FBOPFsp Tea (Finest Broken Orange Pekoe Flowery Special) is a rare variety of Ceylon tea. This is one of those grades that can be referred to as a Speciality tea among Ceylon Black teas. It is being only manufactured in a limited quantity. As it can be manufactured only with young tender tea buds and tips off the tea plant. This tea consists of short thin broken leaf and plenty of golden colored tips off tea buds. Best to use an infuser that can be used for smaller leaves to brew this tea.
Once brewed, this tea has a unique and a rich aromatic scent. The liquor generally has a light golden reddish color and has good strength. Compared to the FBOPF1, which lacks gold colored tips, FBOPF Special tea has a slightly astringent but a rich caramel, chocolate like taste. This is one of those grades for a special occasion or even as gift to special someone. It’s a tea made for the advanced tea tasters, who are enthusiastic to try varieties of Ceylon Tea flavors.
Finally, the FBOPF Sp tea. This had much finer pieces than the other 2 teas, not sure if the final ‘F’ in the designation stands for “fannings’. My first brew attempt was ok, but nothing particularly memorable. For the second time, considering the fine level of pieces, I lowered the temp to ~185F and kept the time below 4 minutes. That improved things remarkably for me. Still though, I preferred the other two teas, and do not plan to re-order this one.
Package arrived without problems. Tea is delicious, we enjoytt it every day. Will definitely order again!!

Great flavor, nice rich golden amber color. Tea is rather fine so you will need a fine mesh for brewing. My ceramic inserts had too large of holes. Very energizing.
