We gets asked a lot, what Ceylon Tea taste like. Answer is very complex as we have to consider too many factors before giving a reply. Ceylon tea derives from Sri Lanka, where tea is grown in few regions across the country which has different agro-climatic conditions. So the flavor, aroma and the liquor differs between these regions. Also after that it has few types of teas made from different manufacturing methods. And those teas also have different grades which have different tastes and characteristics. Anyhow in general most people refer to Ceylon black teas as Ceylon tea, so we can give an idea of what Ceylon black tea tastes like.

In General, Ceylon Tea taste is a smooth, crisp flavor. And it has an aromatic bright liquor and known to be less harsher compared to teas from other asian countries. Various tea grades have various tasting notes such as woody, citrusy, grassy, caramally and fruity notes. Brewing time and methods could affect the taste/flavor. Even the water and it’s temperature also could influence the flavor. Also adding cream, milk and sweeteners can affect the final cup you’re tasting. You have to experiment all these factors to find the best cup that your palate prefers.
